After an 11-year hiatus, Australian sensation Mitchell Starc is ready to return to the Big Bash League (BBL) by joining the Sydney Sixers for the upcoming BBL 15 season. Starc will don the magenta for the first time since his 2014 season debut during the tournament, which is set for December 14–25.
The left-arm fast, who won the BBL|01 and 2012 Champions League titles, is a foundation Sixer and a two-time trophy winner with the team. After today's unveiling of a new on-and off-field line, Starc and his teammates, WBBL and BBL Sixers, will be seen on the field this summer wearing their eye-catching New Balance playing clothing.
Mitchell Starc is Back with a Bang:
Like the previous two seasons, Starc has been signed as a supplemental player. His recent resignation from T20Is, however, creates an opportunity to play in the tournament's second half. His participation will rely on his level of fitness following the Ashes, which end on January 8. Without compromising their core squad strength, each BBL team is permitted to add two players with limited availability who are contracted by Cricket Australia under the supplemental player rule. Starc talked candidly about his love for the Sixers.

In a statement, Starc revealed, "I can't wait to pull on the Sixers' fresh magenta playing shirt in BBL|15. Over the past decade, I've stayed close to the club and, all things going to plan, am excited to get back on the field this summer. The Sixers are close to my heart, and I have great memories of our BBL|01 and Champions League success. My goal is to help bring another trophy home to our passionate fans."
With its bright magenta design, delicate block pattern, and classic Sixers emblem, the playing shirt blends state-of-the-art performance technologies. Starc has solidified his status as one of the game's most devastating left-arm fast bowlers during his seventeen seasons at the highest level.
With 725 international wickets, he is ranked third in Australia's all-format wicket-taking record, behind only Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath, and fourteenth overall among all bowlers in the history of the game. In addition to his Test and ODI commitments, Starc is still available for club and franchise work despite having recently announced his retirement from T20I cricket with Australia.
