On Day 3 of the first Test match against the West Indies in Ahmedabad on Saturday, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy of the Indian cricket team made a spectacular catch to dismiss Tagenarine Chanderpaul. Nitish made a flying catch to give India their first breakthrough in the second innings, and it was an outstanding effort.

Chanderpaul was pressed for space as Mohammed Siraj produced a short of the length delivery in the eighth over of the West Indies innings. The batter ultimately attempted a clumsy shot in the direction of the square leg area, but Nitish quickly caught it with a fantastic catch.

Earlier, Mohammed Siraj (4/40) and Jasprit Bumrah (3/42) led India's bowlers as they destroyed the West Indies for just 162 in the first innings. Then, on Day 2, three centurions stole the show as India's batters crossed the 400-run threshold. Ravindra Jadeja (104*) added another century to his incredible 2025, KL Rahul (100) achieved his first Test century at home since 2016, and Dhruv Jurel (125) celebrated a maiden ton. India led by 286 runs thanks to their efforts, and captain Shubman Gill was forced to declare overnight.

Nitish Kumar Reddy Goes Viral:

Siraj's short shot against Chanderpaul was the high point of the third day's morning. In an attempt to play a pull shot, the left-hander muddled it just enough to send it soaring in the direction of square leg. However, Nitish Reddy, who was positioned there, flew full length to his left and caught the ball cleanly, making sure it didn't come out as it hit the ground.

When Shai Hope, the most reliable batsman for the West Indies, pushed himself at No. 6 and cut one outside off Jadeja, it didn't take long for the fifth wicket to fall. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal was simply outstanding at short third man, moving to his right and taking a diving catch to prolong the West Indies' predicament.

Alick Athanaze held his own against the batting wreckage, hitting three fours with some well-executed reverse sweep singles to reach 27 not out. He had Justin Greaves (10) with him.
