On Wednesday, December 31, Aminul Islam, president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), announced that the BCB's Integrity Unit was looking into a member of the Noakhali Express team management. The move followed a report that questioned the identification and qualifications of Niaz Khan, the assistant coach for Noakhali Express.

The Integrity Unit is presently observing a member of the Noakhali Express team management, BCB President Aminul Islam revealed on Wednesday. He made this statement in response to the Daily Sun article that specifically mentioned assistant coach Niaz Khan and cast doubt on the veracity of his professional claims.

Noakhali Express assistant coach in trouble?

Cricbuzz reported Aminul saying, "They (BCB integrity Unit) is well aware about the development (regarding the news of Noakhali Express assistant coach) and working on it. It's confidential so I cannot disclose much but they (BCB integrity Unit) is well aware about this (regarding the movement of Niaz)."

Meanwhile, BCB’s Integrity Unit and the head of its legal team,Mahin M Rahman, said, "I got confirmation from my head (Alex Marshall) that this (movement of Niaz) is already under a live investigation. Yes, I know that (Niaz was with Dhaka Capitals) and there are some more connections here as well."

The investigation was sparked in large part by the ACB's denial, according to many media reports from Bangladesh. The BCB Integrity Unit then stepped up its investigation to verify the veracity of Niaz's prior positions and relationships. Niaz Khan is still a hot topic in Sylhet for the time being. The results of the Integrity Unit's inquiry will determine the next course of action. Noakhali Express and the current BPL season may be directly impacted by the BCB's decision to take disciplinary action, suspend, or grant clearance when the review is finished.
