The lone player selected for the forthcoming BGT 2024 (Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024) Test series who has not yet boarded a plane to Australia is India skipper Rohit Sharma. In preparation for the first Test, which starts on November 22, the remaining members of the team have already arrived in Perth.
It is expected that he won't make a choice regarding his trip to Australia until after the birth of his second child. But over the past few days, Rohit has been working long hours by making use of the Mumbai Cricket Association's and the Reliance Corporate Park's amenities.

Rohit Sharma is anticipated to miss one of the first two Test matches of the five-match series in Australia for personal reasons, according to a report published by PTI some time ago. According to later rumours, Rohit and his wife Ritika were expecting their second child, which was the reason.
TOI quoted a source close to the matter saying, "There is no clarity yet on his departure. It all depends on how things unfold on the personal front. He is doing what any father would at this stage, which is to stay with his wife and family. But at the same time, he is ensuring to be well-tuned for the Test series and will be batting at every possible opportunity in Mumbai."
On November 10 and 11, two groups of the Indian team members departed for Australia. While the rest, including head coach Gautam Gambhir, departed on November 11, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Washington Sundar accompanied assistant coach Abhishek Nayar on their trip on November 10.
On Sunday night, Virat Kohli and his family arrived in Australia first. On Monday evening, vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah departed without accompanying the second group.
