Ahead of the SA20 2025–26 season's conclusion, the Durban Super Giants made a mid-season switch by bringing in England all-rounder Liam Livingstone to replace Devon Conway, a batter from New Zealand. In an attempt to make the playoffs, DSG, which is currently in the middle of the standings, signed Livingstone. With thrilling games and fierce rivalry amongst the six clubs, the SA20 season is currently in full swing. But it's undeniable that the Durban Super Giants suffered a blow after losing Conway at a pivotal point in the competition.
Due to national obligations, Conway will not be playing for the Durban Super Giants for the rest of the SA20 season. The left-handed hitter has been chosen for New Zealand's white-ball trip to India, which is set to take place between January 11 and January 31 and consists of three ODIs and five T20Is.

The SA20 league is nothing new to Liam Livingstone. The England all-rounder has played for Pretoria Capitals and MI Cape Town in prior tournament competitions. This will be his third SA20 team after joining the Durban Super Giants. Livingstone has participated in 14 league games thus far, amassing 158 runs and taking four wickets.
Livingstone scored 112 runs in eight innings during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's championship-winning IPL 2025 season, which was a respectable individual performance. Since then, he has maintained a strong white-ball form. In addition to being the team's top run scorer with 241 runs, he captained the Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred. He then led Lancashire to a successful T20 Blast season.
The Durban Super Giants are currently ranked fourth on the SA20 points standings after five games. With eight points after one victory, two defeats, and two draws, they are still behind the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Paarl Royals, and Johannesburg Super Kings. On January 7, DSG will play the Pretoria Capitals in Kingsmead.
