On Thursday, October 17, during the first hour of Day 2 of the first Test match between India and New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Sarfaraz Khan was dismissed for a three-ball duck. Tim Southee dismissed the Indian captain to unleash a torrent of runs after Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first in the cloudy weather.

New Zealand pacers took full advantage of the surface's wetness. Virat Kohli also made an effort to be resilient during the test. Nevertheless, he was unable to score during his nine-ball stint at the crease and was eventually removed by William O'Rourke.

Devon Conway's impressive catch:

Sarfaraz, who hasn't played for the Test team since the England series earlier this year, strode out to the middle. He took Shubman Gill's place when the latter was declared out of the Test because of a stiff neck. Sarfaraz, batting at number four, attempted an expansive drive off the third ball after facing a couple of dots from Matt Henry.

Devon Conway was standing at mid-off, although in a squarer position than usual, when the Mumbai batter attempted to hit an aerial drive past him. Conway made a full-stretch dive to catch the ball in his right hand after Sarfaraz mishit the delivery. The catch appeared even better because the ball had passed the Kiwi opener's torso. The 33-year-old put on a fantastic athletic performance.

India was suffering at 13/3 as the drinks break was taken at the end of the 12th over, with Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal attempting to save the innings. As he attempted to withstand the Blackcaps' amazing display of seam bowling, Jaiswal, a naturally aggressive hitter, managed just eight runs after taking 37 deliveries.

Rain returned to Bengaluru, and the umpires halted play four balls into the first over following the drinks break. The Test match has started off in an exciting manner, so fans will be hoping that the rain will stop soon. The Super Soppers were in position and the umpires were out for an inspection at the time of writing. Consequently, it is anticipated that the play will soon continue.
