Devon Conway and Tom Latham, the New Zealand openers, got the team off to a great start. In front of Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah, two of India's new-ball bowlers, the left-handers appeared reliable. However, Latham was forced to poke away from his body in the thirteenth over when Siraj got one to bounce off a length. The ball soared between the first and second slip after catching the outside edge of the bat used by the skipper of New Zealand.

In the first innings of the first Test match against India, New Zealand played a superb game. After the first day washed out, both teams began the first Test on day two in Bangalore. India started the match by batting first, and the hosts were unable to withstand the combination of the cloudy weather and New Zealand's bowling attack.

KL Rahul leaves everyone in shock:

In the first innings, New Zealand came out to bat after India was bowled out for just 46 runs. The team had done well to avoid a predicament like India's. However, KL Rahul's big miss in the slips during New Zealand's opening innings went viral.

Tom Latham, who was becoming more and more hazardous on the field, just avoided death when Mohammed Siraj came out to bowl the thirteenth over of the first innings. Latham edged the ball on the second ball of the over, and it soared straight between KL Rahul and Virat Kohli as it headed straight for Rahul in the slips. The top batsman couldn't even get his touch on the ball, as he was expecting Rahul to go for the catch at third slip. On social media, the moment's clip has been going viral.

The Black Caps had amassed 82 runs with one wicket lost by the time tea was served on the second day of the first Test. By teatime, Devon Conway and Will Young had remained undefeated with scores of 61 and 5, respectively.
