The Australia A coaching group for the series against Sri Lanka A in Darwin, starting on July 4 will include Tim Paine, Adam Griffith, the national pace bowling coach, Scott Prestwidge, the assistant coach for the Australian women's team, and Trent Keep, the Pathway and Development coach for Northern Territory Cricket. In addition to coaching the PM's XI against India last December, Paine has served as a support coach for the Australian women's squad and Australia A men's program for the previous two years.
Paine was credited with stabilising the ship during a tumultuous period and opening the door for leaders like Pat Cummins to usher in a new era of success. Paine took over the national side following the sandpaper controversy. Paine has worked in the media as well. He did, however, disclose that he will now leave broadcasting to devote himself entirely to his new coaching duties.
Tim Paine reveals his appointment:
In addition to his duties with the Adelaide Strikers and Australia A, Paine will continue to coach the Australian women's team on occasion during the forthcoming season. Twelve men's athletes have been selected by the National Selection Panel (NSP) to visit the MRF Academy in Chennai from July 31 to August 13. Emerging batsmen, wicketkeepers, and spin bowlers are the main focus of the 13-day visit; the NSP believes that these players will gain from experiencing the particulars of sub-continental cricket.
Talking to SEN radio Paine said, "It's time to spread my wings. I've been working with Australia A as an assistant coach, and the opportunity has come up for me to be the head coach. I feel like it's a hard balancing act to pursue a coaching career and talk in the media. The Australia 'A' programme is very exciting, there's a lot of young talent to work with. It's something I really enjoy doing. I'm very lucky and I'm really looking forward to the next part of my journey."
