In their Tri-Series T20I at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday, South Africa easily defeated Zimbabwe by seven wickets with 16 balls remaining, with a scorching half-century from player of the match Rubin Hermann and a more composed performance from Rassie van der Dussen.

Before Corbin Bosch struck twice to put Zimbabwe two down after the powerplay, the hosts had a cautious start to the innings, managing just 17 runs in the first three overs. In his first four overs, the all-rounder gave up just four runs. Clive Madande took the second wicket. He was removed on eight for the third time in a row in the current series.

Tri-Nation Series 2025 Highlights:

With the win, the Proteas eliminate Zimbabwe and advance to the final, where they will face New Zealand, who have already won both of their games. After the game, Proteas captain Van der Dussen remarked, “Overall, I felt there were improvements in all aspects. The seamers were great, and the death bowling was excellent. Rubin was very good. We'll look at the New Zealand matches (two to come) as a three-match series. We're 1-0 down at present, so we’re looking to equal that and win the final.”

The way Nqabayomzi spins his legs, Sikandar Raza was massively removed by Peter (nine off 12). In the fifteenth over, Brian Bennett hit his third six of the innings while attempting to quicken his pace. But when Zimbabwe ultimately scored 144/6, Lungi Ngidi closed his stint by dismissing Bennett for 61 off 43.

In his four overs, Bosch gave up just sixteen runs. Tinotenda Maposa dismissed both openers, Lhuan-dre Pretorius (four off seven) and Reeza Hendricks (six off 13) before the fifth over, giving South Africa a precarious start to the chase. With 112 needed off 84 balls at the end of the powerplay, South Africa found themselves in a precarious position.
