In the current Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), Virat Kohli has been scoring goals for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on a regular basis. But lately, there has been increased focus on his off-field pursuits. Recently, Kohli unintentionally liked an Avneet Kaur fan page's Instagram post. The 36-year-old explained that when he was attempting to delete his feed, the algorithm inadvertently recorded an interaction. Before singer Rahul Vaidya intervened, the conversation surrounding this incident was gradually dying down.

Vaidya posted a couple of stories on Instagram, making fun of Virat's explanation of the exchange in a post about Avneet Kaur. Virat Kohli was the focus of several Instagram stories posted by the second runner-up from the first season of Indian Idol. The Delhi batter, according to Vaidya, blocked him on Instagram. But the former mocked the former RCB captain by blaming it on Instagram's algorithm.

Rahul Vaidya Trolls Virat Kohli:

Vaidya wrote, "Main kehna chahta hoon ki aaj ke baad aisa ho sakta hai ki algorithm bohot saare photos like karde jo maine nahi kare. So, jo bhi ladki ho (I want to say that going forward, the algorithm might like many photos which I didn't do. So, the girls), please don't do PR around it because it is not my mistake. It is Instagram's mistake, okay?"

He added, "So guys, Virat Kohli has blocked me, as you all know. I think that too is an Instagram glitch, Virat Kohli didn't block me. Instagram ke algorithm ne bola hoga Virat Kohli ko ki, 'Ek kaam kar, main tere behalf pe Rahul Vaidya ko block kar deti hoon'. Hai na (Instagram's algorithm told Virat Kohli, 'I'll block Rahul Vaidya on your behalf') Right?"

Rahul's social media posts about Virat also made him a target for the cricket legend's followers. According to Vaidya, Kohli's supporters have been harassing him on social media because of his recent online actions. He wrote, "Virat Kohli's fans are even bigger jokers than Virat! And now you are abusing me that's fine but you are abusing my wife my sister.. who have nothing to do with this! So I was right. That's why you all Virat Kohli fans are jokers! 2 kaudi ke (worthless) jokers."

In 11 IPL 2025 games, Kohli has hammered 505 runs at an average of 63.13. The Orange Cap is now held by him. With 16 points from 11 games, RCB is likewise comfortably atop the standings. They will play again on Friday, May 9, against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
