According to The Times of India, four people were arrested by Bengaluru's Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Friday for selling IPL match tickets outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium for outrageous prices. 32 tickets for the crucial Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) vs. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) game were found in the possession of the accused, S Charan Raj, H Harshavardhan Sanklecha, K Vinay, and B Venkata Sai.
S Charan Raj, H Harshavardhan Sanklecha, K Vinay, and B Venkata Sai are the four individuals who were taken into custody after they were found in possession of thirty-two tickets for the Saturday confrontation outside the venue. According to the report, Venkat Sai procured the majority of the tickets, which were originally priced at INR 1200. The accused then sold them for INR 10,000.
RCB vs CSK Tickets in Black Market:
In addition to seizing cash and cell phones, authorities are currently looking into the source and method of obtaining these tickets. A senior police official said, “This is not just a case of street-level touting. We're examining how such large quantities of tickets landed in the hands of individuals unauthorised to distribute them."
This was not the first time this season that black ticket sellers were apprehended; a month prior, the CCB detained eight individuals, including employees of the stadium and canteen, for peddling black IPL tickets. Police found 18 tickets of different denominations that were illegally sold for between INR 7,000 and INR 32,000. Some of the tickets were initially valued at INR 1,200, INR 5,000, and INR 13,000, respectively.
Black ticket dealers attempted to profit on the excitement surrounding the RCB vs. CSK match, and several of them even contacted people online. In the name of tickets, numerous dealers are accused of defrauding cricket fans, according to numerous social media complaints.
