Rishabh Pant, a star batsman for India, has revolutionized the style of batting in Test cricket. His off-balance and one-handed sixes have become extremely popular, and he is not afraid to play unconventional shots in the game's longest format. During the second Test match between Australia and India in Adelaide, former India head coach Ravi Shastri discussed Pant's style of play. In addition to hitting some of his signature strokes in his brief innings, Pant batted well to end Day 2.
Gilchrist was taken aback by the surprise, but he soon recovered and grinned. It was sarcastically called a 'wicket-keeper’s reunion' by former India coach Ravi Shastri, who was on the commentary panel. The friendship between the two cricket players was demonstrated by their warm embrace and friendly conversation. Later, Gilchrist admitted that he was surprised by Pant's amusing gesture but relished the fun.
Rishabh Pant blinfolds Adam Gilchrist:
While talking to Foxstars, Adam said, "Caught me by surprise there. I didn’t know who that was behind me." Meanwhile, Shastri said, "It was wicket-keeper’s reunion. What was that chat, Gilly (Gilchrist)? I am sure he must have asked you, ‘can you show me some new shots to play? Can I score at a quicker rate just like you did and bat for longer periods of time and get hundreds? Well, he’s that kind of a player. He gets bored. He wants something new all the time. This is a reverse scoop, a switch. Don’t be surprised if he tries something like this in the morning (of Day 3)."
Fans were cheered by Rishabh Pant's lighthearted exchange with Adam Gilchrist despite India's humiliating loss. Pant did not contribute much on the field, though, scoring just 21 and 28 in the two innings. Throughout the two innings, India was bowled out for 180 and 175 runs, demonstrating their poor batting performance. The main designers of India's batting collapse were Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, whose devastating bowling spells revealed the team's weaknesses.
