Watch: Arshdeep Singh Apologizes to Yuzvendra Chahal After Breaking Record

In the first Twenty20 International at Kolkata, the Indian team easily defeated the England team, winning by seven wickets and securing the lead in the five-match series. Arshdeep took two wickets against England at Eden Gardens, surpassing the previous total of 96 wickets held by Yuzvendra Chahal. Third, fourth, and fifth on the list are Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah, respectively.

Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy were India's ball-wielding stars. Varun made sure he restricted the batters in the middle overs and got three vital wickets during the powerplay, which was when Arshdeep set the tone by removing England openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett with the new ball. Varun was named the player of the match. Varun Chakravarthy concluded his spell with figures of 3/23 in his entire allotted four overs, while Arshdeep completed with figures of 2/17 in four overs.

When the young player established a new record, he apologized to Chahal. Arshdeep made a funny sign of regret by clasping his ears in a video that the BCCI posted. In addition, the Indian team's performance with the ball in the opening Twenty20 International match against England was outstanding. 

It was also said in the video that Arshdeep Singh had surpassed Yuzvendra Chahal to become India's top wicket-taker in T20Is following the match. Additionally, there was a scene in the video where Arshdeep ultimately apologized to the leg spinner. This demonstrates the modest and deferential disposition of the Punjabi 25-year-old left-arm seamer. 

Varun's exceptional bowling effort in the middle overs earned him the title of Player of the Match. After the game, Arshdeep commended the spinner for his outstanding play since returning to the national squad and underlined the importance of successful bowling in that period. Varun noted that he is happy to have been given the honour and that it gives him confidence.
