During a four-day Emerging Teams cricket tournament between South Africa and Bangladesh in Dhaka, an ugly incident occurred on the pitch. Players from both teams got into a furious argument while South Africa was bowling and Bangladesh was batting, which resulted in a melee in the middle of the field.

An altercation between 29-year-old Proteas pacer Tshepo Ntuli and 22-year-old Bangladeshi batter Ripon Mondol set off the incident. Other squad members quickly joined the battle. The umpires are scheduled to submit an official report before sanctions are applied, although no urgent action has been taken as of yet.

Ugly Scenes from Bangladesh vs South Africa:

After Mondol hit Ntuli for a six during the Test match, the event happened. Despite the fact that verbal altercations are common, the two players were first observed pushing each other during a struggle. Additionally, Ntuli was observed pulling at Mondol's helmet, which ultimately prompted the umpires to step in. On-air commentator Nabil Kaiser accurately characterised the unsightly circumstances. On social media, the brawl footage has gone viral, and many fans have denounced the players' behaviour.

Kaiser stated during the on-air commentary, “This is extreme, this is unacceptable. Normally, we see verbal altercations in a cricket field, but we don't often see a scuffle. Ntuli struck Ripon's helmet at one point." The initial shove between the two players swiftly escalated into a larger altercation. Ntuli repeatedly tugged Ripon's helmet in spite of umpire Kamruzzaman's attempts to intervene. A few of the curious South African players also seemed to join the altercation. Uncertainty surrounds whether the furious incident was preceded by any verbal communication between the two parties.

ESPN Cricinfo writes that because this was the last game of the tour, the match referee would report the incident to Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), who are likely to take action against the two players. This was the second and last four-day game between the two teams in the series, by the way. In Chattogram, the opening game had finished in a draw. The Bangladesh Emerging squad won the three-match ODI series between the two teams by a score of 2-1 before the two-match Test series.
