Prior to their match against Railways in the Ranji Trophy, Virat Kohli was the main focus of Delhi's practice sessions. Kohli joined the group for the first time on January 28. When Delhi plays Railways in the Ranji Trophy, Kohli will be on the field, which starts on January 30. On Tuesday, the 36-year-old participated in his first training session with the team.

During practice, a young Kabir, the son of one of Kohli's age-group cricket friends, engaged with the Indian batsman. Virat Kohli gave the child advice on how to become an international cricket player. In a video that has become popular on social media, Kabir questions Kohli about the requirements to play cricket for his country.

Virat Kohli's priceless advice:

Kabir who came to watch the practice session asks the legendary player, "Indian cricketer banne ke liye kya karna padega (what does one need to do to become an Indian cricketer)?" To this, Kohli shares a priceless advice to the young aspiring kid, "A lot of hardwork humein karni padegi aur aapko practice aur training ke liye bolne ki zaroorat nahi padni chahiye papa ko, haina (it requires a lot of hard work from one's side, and dad shouldn't need to tell you to go for practice)." With a run of poor scores in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Down Under, Virat Kohli has had a difficult time at bat in recent months. With the exception of a century in the first Test match in Perth, Kohli was unable to leave his mark, failing to reach 100 runs in the final four games.

Notably, after more than 12 years, Kohli will rejoin the Delhi team in the top domestic red-ball league. The last time he participated in the Ranji Trophy was in November 2012. In terms of international cricket, Kohli will wear the Blues when India plays England in a three-match ODI series. He will then accompany the team to the United Arab Emirates for the next Champions Trophy.
