Despite having surgery on his finger, Indian keeper-batter Sanju Samson, who was born in Kerala, is anticipated to recover in time for the Indian Premier League 2025. Notably, Samson suffered the injury on February 2 during the fifth Twenty20 International match against England at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.

Early in his innings, Jofra Archer delivered a strong delivery that impacted him on the index finger, causing the incident. Samson continued to bat after being treated on the field, but he was soon removed. In India's 150-run triumph, Dhruv Jurel took over as wicketkeeper in the second innings, and he did not play.

The injury prevented the right-hander from playing in Kerala's quarterfinal Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir, which got off in Pune on February 8. Samson's recent international cricket efforts have been lacklustre. He only scored 51 runs at an average of 10.20 and a strike rate of 118.60 in five games during the England T20I series.

Sanju Samson's IPL 2025 Preparations on Halt:

Throughout the series, he struggled with the short ball, and English pacers frequently took advantage of his vulnerability to high-risk deliveries. Samson's unlucky injury prevented him from playing in Kerala's Ranji Trophy quarterfinal match against Jammu & Kashmir, which began on February 8 in Pune. Although it appeared unlikely that he would play in the IPL 2025, Samson had surgery on his damaged finger and is expected to play once his recovery is complete.

Sanju Samson had a poor performance in the England T20Is, scoring just 51 runs at a meagre average of 10.20 in five appearances. Because the Men in Blue prefer KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant for wicketkeeping, he has not been chosen in India's Champions Trophy squad. Samson's next job will be to play for the Rajasthan Royals in the 2025 Indian Premier League, where he will serve as team captain.

Samson's next goal is to captain the Rajasthan Royals in the 2025 Indian Premier League, as he currently has few options abroad. Under his leadership, the team enjoyed a successful season the year before, making it to the playoffs before losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier.
