Yashasvi Jaiswal, an Indian opener, is focused on the future. The 23-year-old has set new objectives after being chosen for India's forthcoming tour of Australia, including becoming a possible leader in addition to being a batter. Jaiswal aims to advance both emotionally and physically as he pursues his career goals after establishing himself as a reliable Test performer.
When renowned opener Rohit Sharma retires from the format, Jaiswal, who played his lone One-Day International in early 2025, is expected to step in as the successor. Despite his strong T20I statistics and his IPL exploits with the Rajasthan Royals, Jaiswal has been absent from the team ever since Abhishek Sharma made his debut. The child, however, concentrates on things that are under his control because he believes that he will ultimately receive whatever is written in his destiny.
Yashasvi Jaiswal Gets Candid:
While talking with Raj Shamani, he said, "Being in the white-ball team is not my decision, and it’s not even in my control. There’s no point in thinking about things that aren’t in my hands. I prefer to focus on improving what I can control. I try to live in the present and believe that whatever happens, happens for good. Whatever is written in my fate, no one can take it from me. And whatever isn’t meant for me, no one can give it."

When the Indian team for the Australian tour was revealed, the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee made the historic decision to remove Rohit Sharma from leadership and give the reins to Shubman Gill. For the multi-format trip, Jaiswal was left out of both squads. Gill, the recently named captain, will open with his predecessor and form a clash with the younger Sharma for the 20-over bit. The first ODI in Perth is scheduled on October 19, marking the start of the tour.
