Rapper-singer Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, better known by his stage name Badshah, caused a stir when his latest single, Tateeree, was released. In response to claims that his song Tateeree depicts girls in school uniforms dancing in a Haryana Roadways bus and making offensive gestures, the Haryana Police stated on Saturday that it has filed a formal complaint and started the process of issuing a lookout notice against the singer. Badshah apologised on Instagram, stating he didn't mean to offend anyone.
Police filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the artist under laws about obscenity and the alleged indecent representation of women after complaints were received in Haryana, escalating the situation. The Haryana State Commission for Women has asked Badshah to explain the words and artwork of the song.

The rapper took "Tateeree" down from YouTube and other streaming services as the backlash grew. In a public statement, Badshah apologised for the damage the song caused and stated he never meant to offend anyone. Check out the post below.
The complainant said that a song and video called Tateeree had recently been posted on Badshah's official YouTube account and had become popular, according to the FIR that Haryana Police filed. The song has also drawn attention from the Haryana State Commission for Women, which has summoned Badshah.
Shiv Kumar, director of the Shiv Aarti India Foundation, and Savita Arya, president of the Nari Tu Narayani Utthan Samiti in Panipat, filed the complaints. Both have claimed that Tateeree objectifies women and children by using offensive language and sexualised allusions. The commission has been encouraged by the complainants to take decisive action and hold people liable for content that purportedly violates moral and social norms.
