Amid Dhurandhar Song Craze, Akshaye Khanna’s Border 2 Cameo Goes Viral! - Watch

Last weekend, Border 2 debuted in theatres, bringing with it a wave of nostalgia. Nearly thirty years ago, J. P. Dutta's Border (1997) honoured the bravery of our men and gave them a human face unlike any previous war movie. As a result, there was high anticipation for Border 2.

The movie, which had Border alumnus Sunny Deol in the starring role alongside Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh, succeeded in living up to these expectations. During the end credits, fans were treated to a unique surprise: they were reunited with Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Puneet Issar, and Sudesh Berry, whose characters perished in the previous movie. Now, their cameos have gone viral.

When veteran actors Akshaye Khanna, Suniel Shetty, and Sudesh Berry made brief appearances in the Border 2 end credits sequence, producer Bhushan Kumar responded. "Akshaye's appearance wasn't added to milk the euphoria after Dhurandhar," he said. In an interview with News 18, he revealed, "You can’t make a film like that. It was already scripted. In fact, we shot his portion after Dhurandhar was released. The hysteria of the film and Akshaye was already there, but we never thought of [profiting from] it. It was never required in the script. It’s not like we added him after Dhurandhar was released."

The filmmaker further added, "The same can be said for Suniel Shetty. It’s not like we decided to bring them in and seeded them in the script later. They were always supposed to be a part of Border 2 as cameo appearances. I would like to urge everyone not miss the end credits of the film. That scene featuring the cameos is very emotional"

Actors Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, and others played important roles in Border 2. India's three-front reaction to Pakistan's Operation Changez Khan during the 1971 war is the basis for the movie.
