In the post-COVID-19 world, where theatergoing has lost about 25% of its business since 2020, predicting the annual box office has become even more difficult. Fortunately, 2026 has a strong lineup of billion-dollar babies for moviegoers and aficionados of the exceptional.
Although Dhurandhar took centre stage in 2025, 2026 will be a significant year for Bollywood. We have extremely high expectations for high-profile films like Ramayana, King, and Dhurandhar 2. Check out our prediction list below.
Biggest Box Office Hits of 2026 Prediction:
Ramayana:
Together, Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji transformed Bollywood's VFX industry with Brahmastra. His upcoming role as Lord Ram in the Ramayana with Nitesh Tiwari is much anticipated. The reported budget for the epic mythology franchise is 4000 crores. The producers reportedly spent an astounding 900 crores on Part 1. It has been announced that the co-starring Sunny Deol, Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Ravi Dubey will be released on Diwali in 2026.

King:
In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan achieved three successes in a row. Now, fans are eager to see him work with his daughter, Suhana Khan, on the big screen for the first time. With a reported budget of 300 crores, King, directed by Siddharth Anand, is the second most costly Bollywood movie of 2026.

Battle Of Galwan:
Salman Khan's Battle of Galwan is tied for fifth place with Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor's Love & War. The reported budget for each of the two Bollywood giants is 200 crores. Which movie ends up at the top of the box office is only a matter of time.

Avengers: Doomsday:
There's no doubting that the fifth Avengers movie has the greatest ceiling of 2026, even though Marvel Studios is no longer as powerful as it always was. Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, brought back Robert Downey Jr. and the Russo Bros. to salvage the Multiverse Saga, an unsuccessful venture. Doomsday is an unimpressive bet to top the global box office in 2026 due to Marvel fatigue. Nevertheless, this estimate might turn out to be a lowball given that the Avengers franchise is now making an average of $1.9 billion per movie.
