Rajkumar Hirani’s Son Vir Steps Into Bollywood With Hansal Mehta’s Next

Vir Hirani, the son of renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, will soon be part of Bollywood's new generation of performers. Hansal Mehta's upcoming show will feature the theatrical actor who starred in the play Letters of Suresh the previous year. The romantic drama movie will be released next year. What we know about Vir Hirani's impending Bollywood debut is as follows.

PeepingMoon reports that Hansal Mehta's True Story Films would develop a romantic drama starring Vir. With renowned Malayalam director Lijo Jose Pellissery directing for the first time in Hindi, the project assembles an excellent creative team. Renowned for his innovative films, such as Angamaly Diaries (2017) and Jallikattu (2019), Pellissery has gained praise for his audacious narratives and distinct cinematic aesthetic. The addition of Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman to the film's soundtrack adds to its impact.

Angamaly Diaries became a huge commercial and critical success. It was listed among the best Malayalam movies of the decade. The filmmaker is renowned for his creative and ingenious execution as well as his unique storytelling. Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman is reportedly involved in the film's soundtrack.

Known for his 35-minute monologue in theatre great Feroz Abbas Khan's production Letters of Suresh in 2024, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani's son is about to make his big-screen debut. Hansal Mehta and Vir will collaborate on Vir's upcoming love story production. 

This launch is supported by Hansal Mehta, who has been actively developing a slate of theatrical and over-the-top (OTT) projects as a producer. In terms of directing, Mehta just debuted Gandhi, an ambitious series on Mahatma Gandhi, at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). She is also working on a business drama for Netflix that will star Vijay Varma and Anil Kapoor.
