Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna starred in Sikandar, which opened in theaters on March 30. It's interesting to note that the AR Murugadoss film debuted in theaters on a Sunday, Eid, rather than the customary Friday. Despite a strong start at the box office, the film's earnings fell short of what the audience had anticipated. The film's box office performance was poor, and it has now fallen even further to single-digit numbers.

Last week, Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran's film L2: Empuraan was released in theaters. The film has generated a lot of conversation ever since it was released. The film is a follow-up to Lucifer, which came out in 2019. Mohanlal plays Stephen Nedumpally in the movie, while Prithviraj plays Zayed Masood. The movie's box office performance has been excellent. On March 27, it brought in Rs 21 crore for its debut. L2: Empuraan has earned Rs 3.43 crore at the box office as of its eighth day of release. As a result, Rs 87.78 crore has now been collected.

Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan Box Office Collection:

According to Sacnilk.com, the action thriller starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna earned almost Rs 5.75 crore on day five. These are preliminary projections; final numbers have not yet been received. Over the course of the week, the numbers have significantly decreased. Sikandar earned almost Rs 9.75 crore on day four. The numbers have decreased by over 40% from day four to day five. By the third day, the film had earned almost Rs 19.5 crore. The movie had its best box office performance on day two, therefore, it was a fantastic day overall. Day 2, or the first Monday, saw Sikandar earn about Rs 29 crore.

Sikandar was supposed to be one of the highest-grossing, record-breaking films of the year, but it appears that the negative reviews on social media are having an impact on the box office figures. According to official figures, Sikandar has crossed the 150 crore mark in four days with its worldwide collection, which is decent but not great and does not justify Salman Khan's star power. The film's opening day collection was around Rs 26 crore, and by the end of day five, it had made about Rs 90 crore.

However, even on a worldwide scale, L2: Empuraan is doing fairly well. It is anticipated that the Mohanlal and Prithviraj film will become one of the highest-grossing Malayalam movies ever made. On its first weekend, the film did remarkably well. Seeing how it does in its second weekend and whether it makes above Rs 100 crore in India will be interesting.
