One of the world's most influential athletes is still Virat Kohli. In India, a lot of attention is drawn to the cricket player's personal life and the rumours around him. Discussions about Kohli's cricketing and non-cricketing lives continue to captivate fans even during cricket matches. Even the lunch that Virat Kohli and his teammates ate together became a hot topic of conversation when he returned with the Ranji Trophy earlier this year. Kohli's love for Chhole Bhature and how he overcame that temptation to become the person he is now has even been covered by various broadcasters in the past.

Virat Kohli did not hold back when criticizing the broadcasters for talking about his private life while playing cricket. Because of his skill and his personality, 36-year-old Virat Kohli has become the most well-known athletic brand in the world outside of cricket. Because of this, the former captain of India has always been the announcers' favourite commodity to promote.

Speaking at the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit on Saturday, Virat Kohli expressed his opinion that instead of talking about his favourite Delhi restaurant or what he had for lunch, the broadcasters should focus on the athletes' story.

Virat Kohli sets the agenda straight:

At the Royal Challengers Bengaluru Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit, Kohli made this statement. He said, “We are working towards India becoming a sports-forward nation. We have the vision. We have the groundwork happening today. It should be a collective responsibility of everyone involved. It’s not just about the infrastructure or the people who infuse the money. It’s also about the people who watch. We need education. A broadcast show needs to talk about the game and not what I ate yesterday for lunch or my favourite chole-bhature place in Delhi. You can’t have that in cricket matches. Rather, you could talk about what an athlete is going through."

Virat Kohli, who defeated New Zealand in the final to win the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai, has joined the RCB team for the 2019 IPL season. The three-time IPL runners-up, RCB, have not yet formally begun their first training session. For all 17 seasons, the former captain has been the cornerstone of RCB, and he will continue to do so in the 2025 Indian Premier League.

With Rajat Patidar as their new captain and a number of fresh players joining the team, RCB is starting a new chapter in their history with the goal of winning their first IPL championship on May 25. On March 22, in Kolkata's Eden Gardens, the defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will play the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening match of the season.
