Since joining the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for INR 2.20 crore to replace the injured Gurjapneet Singh, Dewald Brevis has been among the team's finest players. In CSK's most recent match, played at the Eden Gardens on May 7, the South African teenager hammered a rapid half-century against the Kolkata Knight Riders. The five-time winners ended a four-match losing streak with this knock.

In response to the cross-border tension between India and Pakistan, the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) was suspended for a week on Friday, May 9. Brevis was one of several foreign players who went home during the break. On Saturday, May 17, the lucrative league's 18th edition will resume. Brevis is not one of the foreign players who may not return to play the final games, despite claims to the contrary.

Dewald Brevis is Ready For the Comeback:

The Johannesburg native confirmed on his official Instagram account that he will be playing in CSK's final two games against the Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals. Brevis said, "See you soon India," beside a photo of a CSK huddle that he posted to his Instagram story.

Since they were the first team eliminated in this event, CSK is having one of their worst league seasons. With only three victories and nine losses in 12 games, they are currently wallowing at the bottom of the table. One of the few bright spots for the Men in Yellow has been Brevis' performance. In four games, the gifted batsman has amassed 126 runs at a strike rate of 163.64 and an average of 31.50. In the upcoming games, he will want to maintain his strong play and keep CSK from dropping to the bottom of the standings.
