In 2012, India won the U-19 World Cup under the leadership of Unmukt Chand. India won the cup by six wickets thanks to his game-winning 111 off 130 in the Under-19 final against Australia A. For the Under-19 team, this was his third straight century in a final. Unmukt did not play a single game for the senior men's squad of India, but he amassed 246 runs at an average of 49.20 in six games.

Citing a dearth of prospects on the Indian cricket circuit, the 32-year-old then relocated to the United States of America. For the forthcoming Indian Premier League 2025 mega auctions, he has now registered himself on the associate players list under the uncapped wicketkeeper-batter slab. Chand is no longer considered an Indian player because he moved his base to the United States.

Unmukt Chand in IPL 2025 Auctions:

Since he last played for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2016, Chand will try to sign his first IPL contract. In addition to playing for the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) from 2011 to 2013 and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2014, he was a member of their championship-winning team in 2015.

Speaking of the auction, on November 24 and 25, the mega sale will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In addition to Chand, Scotland's seam bowling all-rounder Brandon McMullen and USA pacer Ali Khan have also put themselves up for auction. For the auction, the three have established a base price of INR 30 lakh.

When Chand first won the Ranji Trophy, he was still a student. He has participated in 67 games during his first-class career, scoring 3379 runs at an average of 31.57, including eight hundred and sixteen half-centuries. He has a maximum score of 151. He has played 90 Twenty20 matches and amassed 1795 runs with a strike rate of 115.28 and an average of 21.89, with a maximum score of 125.
