On Friday, May 30, the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) square off in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) Eliminator at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
Gujarat made a spectacular return this season after missing out on the playoffs the year before. Their disciplined bowling lineup provided a solid foundation for their potent top order. However, the Mumbai Indians, who are tied for the most wins in this competition, have completely changed their strategy from the previous season. In the forthcoming match, the Hardik Pandya-led team would be hoping to defeat the GT by a slim margin.
IPL 2025 Eliminator Update:
With 18 points, GT finished the league stage in third place, while MI finished in fourth place with 16 points. Both teams lost their most recent league games, which prevented them from securing a top-two berth. GT will be trying to recover after losing to the Chennai Super Kings by an embarrassing 83 runs in their most recent match. However, MI will be hoping for a better performance in the Eliminator after losing to Punjab Kings by 7 wickets in their most recent league match.
Mullanpur Stadium Pitch Report:
A fair match between bat and ball is provided by the surface at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh. Early on, the pitch favours batters because of the speedy outfield. As the innings go on, spinners become more useful, particularly in the second half. Although the stadium had the lowest IPL total defended this season (111), batters will generally have greater success there than bowlers.

Win the game or lose - That's the simple equation for both teams. The victor of the next GT vs. MI Eliminator will advance to the second qualifier, and the loser will be eliminated from the competition. Both GT and MI will be anxious to win the match and advance in their pursuit of the IPL trophy because there is so much on the line.
