One of the Delhi Capitals' (DC) most reliable players, Indian cricketer KL Rahul, was away from the team's opening IPL 2025 match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to attend the birth of his first child with his wife, Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty. Cricket legends and fans alike expressed their sincere congratulations to the couple when they shared the happy news of their baby girl's arrival on Instagram.

KL Rahul will be available for the Delhi Capitals' second IPL 2025 encounter against SunRisers Hyderabad on March 30 in Visakhapatnam, according to a report in TOI.
In spite of KL Rahul's unavailability, the Delhi Capitals achieved their most successful chase in IPL history, defeating the Lucknow Super Giants by a thrilling one wicket while pursuing 210 runs. As DC prepares for their upcoming matchup against SunRisers Hyderabad, the incredible victory has given them more confidence.
KL Rahul's IPL 2025 Return:
KL Given his outstanding previous exploits, Rahul's return to the Delhi Capitals is eagerly awaited. After being released from LSG, Rahul was purchased for Rs 14 crore in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, and he will be keen to contribute to his new team. Rahul was also essential to India's successful 2025 Champions Trophy campaign. The batsman-wicketkeeper put up strong performances, going undefeated for three of the four innings. His reputation as a reliable finisher was cemented by his game-winning knocks against Australia in the semi-finals and New Zealand in the final.
After the Lucknow Super Giants opted not to keep Rahul after a public spat with club owner Sanjeev Goenka at the end of the 2024 season, the Delhi Capitals purchased him for Rs 14 crore at the mega-auction. After successfully regaining his place in the national team's ODI and Test lineup, the wicketkeeper will be looking to succeed in the shortest format.
