As the Chennai Super Kings attempt to recover from a disappointing 2024 season, MS Dhoni will closely monitor the preseason camp. Since his 2020 retirement from international cricket, CSK has maintained lengthy preseason camps to give their star player time to get back to his best. Dhoni recently talked about the year-round effort he makes to stay healthy and prepared for the two months of the IPL.

After putting a stop to rumours over his future in the IPL, Dhoni will play again in 2025. Since leaving international cricket, Dhoni has had to contend with rumours that he is retiring. Prior to the massive auction, the Super Kings paid Rs 4 crore to keep Dhoni as an uncapped player. Following his fifth IPL victory in 2023, Dhoni expressed his desire to participate in the league for at least one more season as a thank-you to the supporters who have shown him so much affection over the years.

On March 22, one day after the season starts in Kolkata, the Super Kings will play their first IPL 2025 match against the Mumbai Indians in Chennai.
