The local government's recommendation regarding the Punjab Kings' (PBKS) IPL 2025 match against the Delhi Capitals (DC), which is set for Thursday, May 8, at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala, is pending, according to officials in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA).

Following Operation Sindoor, the location of the Punjab Kings vs. Delhi Capitals IPL 2025 match (on Thursday) and the PBKS vs. Mumbai Indians match (on Sunday) may be altered. Since the closest airport is blocked, the game was originally supposed to be held at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. The ultimate decision hasn't been made yet, though. Sources revealed, "The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in touch with the Indian government regarding the matter."

PBKS vs DC Match 58 Venue Changed?

Due to security concerns in Dharamsala during Operation Sindoor, this website previously claimed that the May 11 match between PBKS and the Mumbai Indians had been rescheduled to Mumbai, where it would now take place at either Brabourne Stadium or DY Patil Stadium. The city is on high alert following India's precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including the strongholds of Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke and Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur. The city is only about 60 kilometres from Pakistan's national border.

When India launched retaliatory attacks in response to the terror assault in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent Indians. Given the increased tensions between the two countries, there are worries about having more than 20,000 people at one location under floodlights. Additionally, Himachal Pradesh shares a 240-kilometre border with China in the districts of Kinnaur, Lahaul, and Spiti. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of the state, recently called a high-level meeting in Shimla.

The military escalation has resulted in the temporary closure of at least 18 airports in the country's western and northern regions. Amritsar, Pathankot, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Shimla, Dharamshala, Srinagar, Leh, and Jammu are among them. Among the airports currently closed for business is Chandigarh, the closest alternative airport to Dharamsala.
