The IPL will hold a special retention event for the first time, where clubs will reveal which of its players they plan to retain for the upcoming years and which ones they may, rather shockingly, let go of. Teams will have the option of selecting the players they wish to build their core around going forward, or they can decide to start over from the beginning. The special retention show will clarify which players will be in place following a great deal of speculation since there have already been many whispers and rumours circulating about the decisions the 10 teams may be making.
