A batting powerhouse in the Indian Premier League 2024 was Sunrisers Hyderabad. With 287 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, they even surpassed the highest team total record in IPL history because of their appalling on-field presence. Before the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated them in the final to win their third IPL championship, the squad was in dominant form and had broken the 250-run mark three times in IPL 2024. It's important to remember that SRH only took home the trophy once, in 2016.
ESPNcricinfo reports that Nitish Reddy will sign a contract worth ₹6 crore, while Head would be kept for ₹14 crore. With these two significant additions, SRH has now confirmed the core group that helped them reach the IPL 2024 final and finalized their quota of five capped players prior to the auction.

2. Pat Cummins - INR 18 cr
3. Abhishek Sharma - INR 14 cr

Cummins will continue to oversee SRH, with Daniel Vettori serving as the head coach. Both were in charge when SRH made it to the playoffs for the first time since 2020 in the previous season. It is noteworthy that Head finished the season with a strike rate of 191.55, scoring 567 runs in 15 innings while slamming 64 boundaries and a stunning 32 maximums, making him the best-run scorer for SRH. However, Nitish's middle-order batting showed promise as he amassed 303 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 142.92, including 15 boundaries and 21 maximums.
From their total purse of INR 120 crore, the sum of these retentions will be subtracted by INR 75 crore. Abhishek Sharma, Pat Cummins, and Heinrich Klaasen had previously been confirmed to be retained by SRH. They can now perhaps re-sign one of their uncapped players during the auction by using a right-to-match card.
