Once again, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be led by Virat Kohli. The announcement of the players' retentions for the next Indian Premier League (IPL) season is keenly anticipated by cricket fans worldwide. According to the BCCI, franchises have until October 31 to complete their retentions. Since there will be a huge auction this year, the teams are permitted to keep up to six players, at least one of whom must be an uncapped Indian player. Numerous well-known players, including Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul, have reportedly entered the auction pool.
For the second time in his career, Virat Kohli is expected to lead the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as captain. According to speculations, the talismanic batter will lead the well-liked team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, taking over from Faf du Plessis, who was in charge during the previous three-year cycle (2022–2024).
Virat Kohli takes over RCB captainship:
In a recent conversation with the management, Virat Kohli indicated his interest in leading RCB, according to a Times of India (TOI) story. Over the past three seasons, Du Plessis has managed the team admirably and guided them to the postseason in two of those seasons. The 40-year-old does not, however, have age on his side, which has allowed Kohli to take over.

Even though RCB hasn't won the IPL yet, their supporters never give up on them. RCB will try to break their title drought under Kohli's leadership and provide their supporters with what they have been craving since 2008. Because they don't have to pay more money out of their purse to hire a new captain, RCB's life is made easier by selecting their captain before the big auction.
