During Match 33 of the current Indian Premier League between the Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday, April 17, a humorous incident involving Suryakumar Yadav checking the left-handed batter's pockets occurred between the two players. Before the eighth over of the opening innings began, a humorous incident occurred.
Captain Hardik Pandya decided to enter the attack after Abhishek got off to a strong start against MI, scoring 36 runs off 26 balls with six fours. Surya approached Abhishek as he was recording his run-up and inquired if the SRH opener was carrying a similar chit that created a lot of buzz following his historic century against the Punjab Kings.

Suryakumar humorously walked up next to Abhishek to search through his pockets for any form of chits as Hardik Pandya was marking his run-up and approaching his bowling mark. "This one is for the Orange Army" was written on a scrap of paper that Abhishek took out of his pocket when he reached his century. This incident happened a few days later.
It was a gesture of appreciation from Abhishek to the 'Orange Army' of SRH supporters. Since the franchise changed to an ultra-attacking strategy last year, they have been showing their devotion without conditions. Prior to the PBKS game, Abhishek wasn't playing at his best. The left-hander helped SRH chase down 246 with 9 balls remaining after smashing the record for the highest score by an Indian in IPL history (141 off 55 balls) with a point to prove in front of SRH's home crowd.
Regarding the match between MI and SRH, the home team ultimately prevailed by a margin of four wickets. Abhishek became his team's leading scorer. Despite being given the opportunity to bat first, SRH was only able to reach 162/5 after 20 overs. Suryakumar (26 off 15) was one of four MI players who scored in the 20–30 range.
MI won the IPL 2025 for the third time. In terms of SRH, they suffered their sixth defeat in the current campaign. On Wednesday, April 23, the rematch will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Additionally, that game is set to start at 7:30 p.m. (IST).
