Star batsman-wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant had to withdraw injured midway through his innings due to a painful foot injury sustained during India's fourth Test match against England at Old Trafford. Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), sent Pant an emotional and inspirational message wishing him a swift recovery amidst all the uncertainties surrounding his condition and his ability to play the rest of the Test.

On the first day, Rishabh Pant was injured and had to leave the field. During the third session, he tried a reverse sweep off Chris Woakes and was hit in his right toe by the throw. Having scored 37 off 48 balls, the wicketkeeper-batter was clearly in agony and was unable to continue.

LSG Owner Sanjiv Goenka Gets Candid:

After being struck on the toe, Rishabh Pant was uncomfortable and needed to be wheeled off the field in a golf cart. Given that he has been in outstanding form, hitting 462 runs at an average of 77 in seven innings, his fitness is vital for India. Notably, he trails Shubman Gill as the series' second-highest run scorer.

The ball struck the bat first, even though England reviewed for LBW. Pant, on the other hand, was observed in excruciating pain and unable to bear any weight on his foot. The wicketkeeper was finally carried off the field on a buggy after receiving on-field medical assistance from the team physiotherapist. The owner of LSG then disseminated the message.

Taking to his official social media handle, he wrote, "Wishing you a speedy recovery, Rishabh. You’re a fighter, and we know you’ll come back stronger." With half-centuries by Sai Sudharsan (61) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (58), India finished the first day at 264/4. Ben Stokes, the captain of England, took two wickets. Shardul Thakur (19) and Ravindra Jadeja (19) were undefeated at the crease at stumps. Dhruv Jurel can take over as wicketkeeper if Pant is unable to play because of the injury, but he will not be allowed to bat during the game.
