With some of the top players in the world competing in the competition, which is scheduled to begin on March 22, the IPL excitement has already started. Mitchell Marsh, an all-rounder who has recovered from injuries, is also making his competitive cricket comeback this season.

Notably, the LSG cricket player was sidelined for the just-finished Champions Trophy after suffering a back injury and malfunctioning during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy match against India. Though merely as a hitter, the path to his comeback to professional cricket is now open. To fix the issue, Marsh saw a back specialist in early February and rested for a while, according to ESPNcricinfo. He has been cleared to play in the IPL for LSG only as a batsman after returning to hitting in recent weeks.

Mitchell Marsh Cleared to Play:

Marsh will attend the team camp in Lucknow on March 18, according to a new development. There, he will also connect with Justin Langer, the former head coach of Australia, who is currently in the LSG set-up as the head of the coaching unit, which also comprises the likes of Khan Zaheer.

He was purchased by LSG for ₹3.3 crore at the Jeddah mega auction last year. On March 18, Mash is anticipated to report to the LSG camp, where he will meet up with Justin Langer, his former head coach, who is about to start his second season with the team. The Australian international has played in the IPL since 2009 and has previously played for the Deccan Chargers, Rising Pune Supergiants, Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Pune Warriors India. LSG thus joins the super competition as his sixth team. In his 42 league appearances thus far, he has amassed 665 runs and 37 wickets.

Speaking of Lucknow, on March 24 in Visakhapatnam, the club will play the Delhi Capitals in their opening game of the 2025 season. On April 1, they will host the Punjab Kings in their maiden home match at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
