The May 11 IPL 2025 match between the Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings is probably going to be moved from Dharamshala to Ahmedabad. Amid the vital playoff race, the BCCI is looking into every possibility to make sure the match is not cancelled or postponed.

At first, DY Patil Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai were thought to be possible backup sites. Anil Patel, the secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association, confirmed that the BCCI had selected Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium to preserve neutrality and prevent either team from having a home advantage.

Concerns about logistics have surfaced in relation to Sunday's game in Dharamshala. Following Indian military strikes on nine terror locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as part of Operation Sindoor, the city's airport was one of several closed on Wednesday. The BCCI asked the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) to host the match as part of its backup plans.

PBKS vs MI Match 61 Venue Change:

TOI quotes, “Since the match had to be shifted at the last minute, the BCCI asked if we could host it, and we have formally informed them that we are ready."

The Punjab Kings' second home field is Dharamsala, where they will play three games: the Lucknow Super Giants on May 3, the Delhi Capitals on May 8, and the now-relocated Mumbai Indians on May 11. Since both teams have arrived at the venue, PBKS is anticipated to face DC there after starting their Dharamsala leg by defeating LSG by 37 runs. But before going to Ahmedabad, MI and PBKS are anticipated to change their itinerary to pass through New Delhi.

The Delhi Capitals made it to Dharamshala ahead of the airport closure, which is noteworthy. However, as flight services are still banned, they will now have to travel back to Delhi by road or by a combination of road and rail. On May 11, the Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans will play at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Before confirming their travel schedule for their upcoming match, the Mumbai Indians are awaiting a final decision from the BCCI. The five-time winners' most recent match was against the Gujarat Titans on Monday at Wankhede Stadium.
