In just 35 balls, Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the fastest Indian centurion and the second-fastest player overall in an innings that stunned the cricket world against the Gujarat Titans. In his maiden IPL season, the young southpaw makes history. Suryavanshi became the youngest player to reach a century in men's Twenty20 cricket after his outstanding effort in the Rajasthan Royals' eight-wicket victory over the Gujarat Titans.

With seven fours and eleven sixes, his incredible 101 was the second-fastest hundred in IPL history. The only person to score a faster IPL century is Chris Gayle, the legendary T20 player and former West Indies batter. Suryavanshi, who turned 14 this month, was purchased for just over £100,000 at the previous year's IPL auction.

Sachin Tendulkar Praises Vaibhav Suryavanshi:

Numerous cricket analysts and players have commended the 14-year-old Samastipur native for displaying his skills with one of the tournament's most devastating knocks. He has even been likened by some analysts and commentators to Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara. In fact, the "God of Cricket" recently expressed his admiration for the young left-hander's skill and courageous approach in a tweet about his innings on social media. The "Master Blaster" added that it was the ideal formula for an outstanding inning.

Tendulkar used his official 'X' handle to tweet, “Vaibhav’s fearless approach, bat speed, picking the length early, and transferring the energy behind the ball was the recipe behind a fabulous innings."

Rishabh Pant (20 years and 218 days), Devdutt Padikkal (20 years and 289 days), and his opening partner and teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal (21 years and 123 days) are also among the top five youngest centurions. Jaiswal scored a century against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede in 2023, scoring 124 runs off 62 deliveries with a strike rate of 200 in the game.
