On Saturday, April 5, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will play the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match No. 17 of the 2025 Indian Premier League at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk. The iconic location hosted the toss in cloudy conditions, and before the exciting match, the leaders swapped their team papers.
In order to take advantage of Chennai's playing conditions, DC captain Axar Patel declared at the toss that his team would bat first. Axar Patel disclosed that veteran batsman Faf du Plessis would not play in the intense match against CSK. Faf, who was once an essential part of the CSK team, has so far looked amazing in the IPL 2025. Du Plessis has scored 79 runs at a strike rate of 175.56 and an average of 39.50 in two IPL 2025 innings. Given his stellar play and Chepauk playing experience, his absence is undoubtedly a huge blow to DC.
Faf du Plessis Out of Lineup:
In the meantime, CSK has altered their combination in two ways. Reliable batsman Devon Conway takes Jamie Overton's spot, while Rahul Tripathi makes room for Mukesh Choudhary, who has been called up.
