Following an exciting final at Providence Stadium in Guyana, where they overcame the local team Guyana Amazon Warriors, St. Lucia Kings were proclaimed the new champions of the Caribbean Premier League. Preity Zinta's trophy drought is now over with this victory. It should be mentioned that Preity Zinta shares ownership of the CPL team St. Lucia Kings. Karan Paul, Mohit Burman, and Ness Wadia are the other franchise owners.

Fans of the Bollywood actress took to social media to drop victory posts for Preity Zinta. They shared pictures of the actress congratulating her and the team for their first-ever CPL title win. A fan wrote, "Saint Lucia Kings did what Punjab Kings couldn’t for years." Another wrote, "Finally a trophy for the Kings franchise. Preity Zinta, the happiest lady today."

Preity Zinta fans go gaga on social media:

The Providence pitch resulted in a low-scoring final that made it difficult to score runs. After winning the toss, the St. Lucia Kings made the home team, the Guyana Amazon Warriors, take the opening blow. The Amazon Warriors found it extremely tough to score runs on a challenging pitch in Guyana. In front of their home fans, it appeared as though the Amazon Warriors would be bowled out at 97-7.

The St. Lucia Kings had won their first-ever CPL championship. Prior to the 2021 Indian Premier League season, the team was renamed St. Lucia Kings from St. Lucia Zouks. For the Indian Premier League's first season, which took place in 2008, Preity first purchased a franchise team in 2007. At the time, the franchise she purchased was called Kings XI Punjab; however, before the IPL 2021 auction, the team was renamed Punjab Kings.

Nevertheless, Punjab Kings are among the four teams who have not yet won an IPL trophy and are among the lowest-performing teams in IPL history. Only twice have they advanced to the IPL playoffs: in 2008 and 2014. Watch this space for more cricket news.
