On Monday, December 16, on Day 3 of the third Test match between Australia and India in Brisbane, Mitchell Marsh made a spectacular catch to eliminate Shubman Gill, showcasing his exceptional agility and quick reflexes. Australia got off to a fantastic start. Mitchell Starc led the charge by taking two early wickets, which caused chaos in India's top order. Mitchell Marsh's amazing catch to dismiss Shubman Gill, which electrified the Gabba crowd, was one of the highlights.

India's innings got off to a terrible start as they attempted to chase Australia's commanding first-innings total of 445. Despite being hit for a boundary off the opening delivery, Starc responded by dismissing opener Yashasvi Jaiswal on the very second ball. Jaiswal was dismissed for just 4 runs after a simple catch by Marsh in the slips, which set the stage for the seasoned pacer's ferocious stint.

Flying Marsh dismisses Shubman Gill:

Following Mitchell Starc's dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal off the second delivery of the Indian innings, the Punjab batsman walked out to the middle. Shubman attempted to play an extravagant drive to a ball that was thrown deep outside off-stump in Starc's second over. All the 25-year-old could manage while playing away from his body was a thick outside edge that sailed to Marsh's left, where he was stationed at Gully.

With his torso nearly parallel to the ground, the Australian all-rounder dove to his left and caught the ball with both hands. After making the fantastic catch, Marsh was pleased with his accomplishment and went for a celebratory run. Gill faced three balls and left for just one run. In the opening overs, Mitchell Marsh's spectacular diving catch to dismiss Gill, left India reeling at 4/2. The Australian players' obvious excitement at the dismissal highlighted their supremacy early in the Indian innings.

Given the circumstances of the match, this was a crucial wicket. The last time Gill played a Test match at the legendary Gabba, he hit an incredible half-century against Australia during the 2020–2021 series. He will have to wait until the second inning to have an effect this time, though.

In the first innings, India's bowling effort was lackluster, with Jasprit Bumrah emerging as the lone fighter with an incredible six-wicket haul. But when the rest of the assault stumbled, Australia was able to score a huge amount and put pressure on India's batting lineup.
