India's women are preparing to face Ireland in a three-game ODI series. Both sides will face off in three One-Day Internationals on January 10, 12, and 15. This series is Ireland Women's first bilateral trip to India, and it is part of the 2022-2025 ICC Women's Future Tours Programme. It is worth noting that all of the series' games will take place at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

Prior to the series, it was confirmed that India captain Harmanpreet Kaur would not play in the ODI series. She had a knee injury during the recent home series against the West Indies, forcing her to miss the final two T20Is before making a brief return for the ODIs. Harmanpreet Kaur has been rested for the series against Ireland. According to Cricbuzz, she has been instructed to report to the NCA in Bengaluru. Apart from Harmanpreet, Renuka Singh Thakur has also been rested for the Ireland series.

Setback for Harmanpreet Kaur:

It is worth noting that the series will be part of Ireland's 2022-2025 future tours program and will mark the country's first bilateral trip to India. Harmanpreet Kaur's knee ailment first appeared in December 2024, during a series against the West Indies. She returned for the three-match ODI series after missing the previous two T20Is, but her fitness remained an issue.

Interestingly, Ireland Women have lost all 12 ODIs against India Women and will want to break their jinx. Smriti Mandhana will head the Indian women in the forthcoming series against Ireland. Deepti Sharma will serve as the series' vice-captain, while the roster will include Pratika Rawal, Uma Chetry, Jemimah Rodrigues, and many other luminaries.
