After suffering a fracture to his right foot on the first day of the fourth match, India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was declared out of the fifth and final Test match against England on Sunday, July 27, 2025. His replacement has been announced as N. Jagadeesan of Tamil Nadu.
To rescue a draw and maintain the five-match series against England, India put up a strong display in the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester last week. The cricket community will never forget Rishabh Pant's courageous half-century in India's opening innings. But since he will miss the last Test due to a fractured foot, that will be his final contribution to the current tour.
When Pant attempted to reverse sweep Chris Woakes on the first day of the Manchester Test, he got hurt on his right foot. At the moment, the 27-year-old was batting on 37. He was forced to leave the field. But when the Delhi cricketer batted the next day, he scored a crucial half-century.
