S. Sreesanth has been punished by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) for three years for his remarks criticising the board over Sanju Samson's removal from the Champions Trophy 2025 squad. A significant decision regarding the former Indian cricket player was made at a special general body meeting held in Kochi on April 30.
The KCA stated in a statement that the decision was made during its special General Body meeting on April 30 in Kochi. Currently, Sreesanth shares ownership of the Kerala Cricket League franchise team Kollam Aeries. Show-cause notices have already been sent to Sreesanth, the franchise teams Kollam Aeries, Alappuzha Team Lead, and Alappuzha Ripples concerning his contentious comments.
After Samson was left out of India's CT 2025 roster, it was claimed that his failure to play for Kerala in the Vijay Hazare Trophy was the cause of his withdrawal from the event. In response, Sreesanth charged that the KCA had excluded Samson from Kerala's team. The state cricket board took action in response to his comments.

According to what Onmanorama published, the KCA stated in its statement, "Since the franchise teams gave satisfactory responses to the notices, no further action will be taken against them. However, the meeting decided to advise greater caution when appointing members to team management."
The 2011 ODI World Cup winner's remarks were addressed by the KCA, which also sent him a notice for damaging their reputation through his media remarks. The future of the Kollam Aries Sailors, a team in the Kerala Cricket League, which is played every year by the KCA, is still up in the air.
Notably, in response to Sreesanth's comments, the KCA sent show-cause warnings to the Kerala Cricket League team owners. The league decided not to take further action against Kollam Aries Sailors after the franchises provided appropriate answers, which relieved the former Indian pacer.
Additionally, the KCA cautioned league team owners about involving athletes in team management. The KCA's recent meeting covered many important topics in addition to Sreesanth's remarks. The board made the decision to file a lawsuit against the people who claimed they had excluded Samson from Kerala's Vijay Hazare Trophy team.
Samson Viswanath, the father of Sanju Samson, Regi Lukose, and a News 24x7 TV host, all made accusations against the KCA. During the meeting, the KCA decided to sue them for trying to damage the association's reputation and seek compensation.
