The Duleep Trophy 2024 began today, and pacer Akash Deep scored 43 runs off of 42 deliveries, which proved to be a crucial contribution. With KL Rahul out of the game, India A was gradually losing the match, but Akash counterattacked in an attempt to draw nearer to the goal. During his time at the crease, he broke three boundaries and four maximums. He then shared a few pictures and videos from his innings on Instagram.
He was seen striking Mukesh Kumar for a boundary in one of the videos. He hit it over mid-on for a boundary, timing it well. Interestingly, Mukesh, who had removed Akash from the game in the first innings, responded to the video by insulting the Indian team. a cricket player by requesting that he submit the footage of his dismissal.
Akash Deep gets trolled by Mukesh Kumar:
Mukesh said, "Bhai out wali v dal de yar," in response to a post made by his Bengal teammate. In addition, veteran pacer Navdeep Saini, who bowled alongside Mukesh during the match, left a comment on Akash's post mentioning that they had also made a video specifically for the pacer. He did, however, also commend Akash for his outstanding all-around performance during the game. "Btw, this video is really amazing. Nicely done," Saini wrote.
Against India A, Akash scored four runs in the first innings and five in the second. The 27-year-old was called up for the forthcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh as a result of the same. Although the cricket player has already reported to the Chennai camp, it is yet unknown if he will feature in the first Test match at MA Chidambaram Stadium because the team management seems to prefer Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
Notably, earlier in the year, Akash made his Test debut against England. Akash was able to take over when Bumrah made the decision to control his workload and take a break from the fourth Test in Ranchi. He took three wickets in the opening over but did not get a ball in the second or third innings, and did not play in the fifth Test in Dharamshala.
