A video clip of former India captain MS Dhoni attending the birthday celebration of what appears to be his gym buddy has gone viral on social media. Dhoni was recently signed by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction later this month. Despite being an uncapped player, the veteran will be seen wearing the yellow jersey once more. Since Dhoni hasn't participated in an international match in five years and meets the requirements to be featured as an uncapped player, CSK took advantage of the new regulation enforced by the BCCI, for which he received INR 4 crore.

The veteran was recently seen in Ranchi enjoying his gym buddy's birthday, just as the renowned team of the former India captain gets ready for the auction. As he sliced the cake, the wicketkeeper-batter stood next to him, and Dhoni complied by eating a piece. The video was quick to go viral on social media.

MS Dhoni wins hearts:

Six years earlier, in 2020, Dhoni declared his retirement from international cricket after retiring from Test cricket in 2014. But he still participates in the IPL. After being retained by the team, the CSK legend, known to his fans as "Thala," is probably going to play in the 2025 IPL. He hasn't, however, made an official decision regarding his future in the lucrative league to provide that clarity.

It is important to remember that the IPL 2025 mega auction is set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25. MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Matheesha Pathirana, and Shivam Dube are the five players that CSK has kept. They would go into the auction with INR 55 crore after spending INR 65 crore on retentions. Dhoni stated at the Rigi event that he simply wants to enjoy the game for the upcoming years while discussing the rest of his IPL career.
