Paras Dogra, a cricketer from Palampur who is now leading Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy 2025–26, has made history by becoming just the second player in the tournament's 92-year history to reach 10,000 runs, following Wasim Jaffer. The historic occurrence occurred on February 16 at Kalyani during the Ranji Trophy semi-final matchup with Bengal.
It took Dogra 147 innings to reach the milestone. With 12,038 runs, Wasim Jaffer is still the tournament's top scorer. With 33 hundreds, the 41-year-old also holds the second-highest number of hundreds in Ranji Trophy history. With 41 centuries, Jaffer is also at the top of that leaderboard.

Paras Dogra reaches a remarkable milestone in Indian domestic cricket.
Yes, intl cricket is the benchmark. But let’s never forget domestic cricket is the provider , it’s a brutal grind. Breaking into a state side, surviving season after season,… pic.twitter.com/Ozm2nzXh9E
When Dogra entered at No. 4, J&K, who were batting second, were already having problems at 13/2. Abdul Samad supported Dogra after Shubham Pundir left shortly after, and the two forged an important 50-run partnership to keep the innings steady. In his 147th Ranji Trophy appearance, Dogra achieved the historic milestone with the 11th run of his knock. With 12,038 runs, Jaffer is still the tournament's top run scorer and the only player to have ever surpassed the 10,000-run mark.
Beginning his first-class career in 2001, the right-handed batsman played for Himachal Pradesh, scoring over 6,418 runs, including 19 hundreds and 24 half-centuries, in 95 Ranji Trophy matches. He relocated to Puducherry in 2018, where he struck 11 hundreds over the course of five seasons and became the team's first-ever Ranji Trophy centurion. He moved to Jammu & Kashmir and assumed the captaincy prior to the 2024–25 season.
Dogra has been leading from the front as the season approaches the 500-run milestone. He is now J&K's second-highest run scorer and has been instrumental in leading the team to their first Ranji Trophy semifinal. Dogra currently has 33 Ranji Trophy hundreds, which is second only to Jaffer's 40 total among active players. With his 147th appearance, he also surpassed Jaffer, who has 156 appearances, as the player with the second-most caps in tournament history.
