Sarfaraz Khan Weight Loss Journey Revealed: Strict Diet Helps him Lose 10 kg Before England Tour

Sarfaraz Khan, an Indian batsman, has reduced 10 kg through a rigorous diet in preparation for the forthcoming England tour. Sarfaraz made his debut against England in 2024, however, he hasn't yet played his first Test match abroad. The 27-year-old batsman is working hard to prepare for the two Test matches against the England Lions after being named in the India A team.

According to India Today, the rigorous diet consists of chicken and boiled veggies. It is said that he practices twice a day for extended periods of time while concentrating on deliveries outside off-stump. Sarfaraz has already participated in six Test matches. So far in his early career, he has been really spectacular. The middle-order batsman has amassed 371 runs, including three fifties and a hundred. Sarfaraz did not have the opportunity to wear the whites for the whole of the series, despite being part of the Indian team for the 2024–25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Sarfaraz played against New Zealand in the third Test at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, however, he did not play a single game in the five-match Test series against Australia. In his first six games as a player, Sarfaraz has amassed 371 runs at an average of 37.10, with 103 fifties. Even though it was in a losing cause, he hit an incredible 150 in Bengaluru against New Zealand, which was his lone century of the season. He previously struck an incredible 222* (286) for Mumbai, which was crucial to their victory in the Irani Cup.

Given that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are retiring, two spots in the red-ball setup are up for grabs in terms of their chances of playing for the Indian side. Sarfaraz could stand a good chance of making the squad if he can convince the team management with his India A exploits. According to Sarfaraz's Instagram story published today, it seems he has been working really hard under Naushad to be successful in his upcoming significant job abroad. 

On June 20, India is set to begin their series against the Three Lions. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has not yet revealed the team. In terms of who will be the future captain, Shubman Gill has been the front-runner. Which players from the India A team advance to the India one is still up in the air.
