As is his habit, star batsman Virat Kohli of India broke yet another record. During Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur on Monday, Indian cricket team star batsman Virat Kohli set a new record for the fastest player to amass 27000 international runs.
Having completed the feat in just 594 innings, Kohli broke the mark set by the great Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar (623 innings). Consequently, Kohli became the first cricket player in history to complete 25,000 international runs in fewer than 600 innings. The other players who have achieved this accomplishment are former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting and Sri Lanka star Kumar Sangakkara.
King Kohli shatters records:
Following their successful first-inning stand of 233 runs against the visitors, India adopted an attacking strategy from the outset, taking Bangladesh's bowling assault head-on. Following the strong starts from Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, it was Virat Kohli's time to face the bowlers from Bangladesh. The top batsman proceeded to hit 47 runs off just 35 deliveries, making history as the fastest player to reach the 27,000-run milestone in international cricket.
