During Sunday's third ODI match in Indore, great batsman Virat Kohli of the Indian cricket team shared a humorous interaction with star Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand. With the aid of 15 fours and 3 sixes, Mitchell smashed 137 off 131 deliveries while in outstanding form. He led New Zealand to a huge total while appearing very at ease against the Indian spinners.
After Mohammed Siraj finally dismissed Mitchell, he started to go back to the pavilion. Virat Kohli, who was standing close to the boundary ropes, engaged Mitchell in a lighthearted conversation by jokingly shoving him off the field. Mitchell tortured Indian bowlers throughout the three-match series, scoring two hundreds and a half-century, before making the amusing gesture. In the 45th over, Mitchell was removed by Mohammed Siraj, ending his innings. Kohli was observed cheering close to the boundary line as the New Zealand batter headed back to the dressing room. In a sequence that left both fans and the New Zealand batter in shock, he had a brief conversation with Mitchell before playfully shoving him out of the ground.
Speaking of the third ODI, Mitchell and Glenn Phillips' brilliant hundreds helped New Zealand to a dominant 337/8 in their 50 overs. With a brilliant knock of 137 runs, including 15 fours and three sixes, Mitchell scored his second century of the series, continuing his incredible run of form.
Phillips, who scored 106 off 88 balls with nine fours and three maximums in an equally impactful innings, provided Mitchell with strong assistance. During the middle overs, the pair played a crucial role in accelerating the scoring. Mitchell and Will Young first combined for 53 runs in 66 balls for the third wicket before Mitchell and Phillips put together an incredible 219-run partnership in 186 balls for the fourth wicket.
