After Dhurandhar hit theatres, Bollywood star Ranveer Singh's career reached incredible heights of triumph, capping off 2025 on a high note. His flawless portrayal captivated hearts, and viewers were eagerly awaiting Dhurandhar: The Revenge, the sequel. However, many were taken aback when Ranveer left Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 that same month, allegedly over creative disagreements. As fans anxiously await the return of Ranveer's magic as Hamza, also known as Jaskirat, in Dhurandhar 2, the most recent rumours indicate that the actor may face legal issues as a result of Don 3.
The production company Excel Entertainment reportedly sustained a significant financial loss following Ranveer Singh's departure from the movie. A dispute has now emerged between the two parties about the reimbursement of around Rs 40 crore in relation to the same loss. To date, though, there has been no formal confirmation in this regard.

Ranveer is reportedly "pushing back," though, because he feels he is exempt from paying the enormous sum. According to a cited source, “Ranveer claims he left the project because he wasn’t happy with the script. He kept asking for changes to be made and didn’t like what the final draft read. Excel, on the other hand, claims that they went ahead with pre-production only after Singh gave his go-ahead.”
The Producers Guild of India (PGI) needed to step in. According to reports, Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment recently met for around two hours, but no tangible outcome was reached. It seems that both sides were placing blame on one another. Excel Entertainment and Ranveer Singh have not yet released an official statement about this controversy.
The Producers Guild of India (PGI) has reportedly intervened to mediate between the producers and the actor as the situation worsens. Shah Rukh Khan, who won hearts as the original Don in the first two editions of the series, Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011), was reportedly being offered the project again, according to current rumours. However, no confirmation on the same has been revealed.
